Dear Conference Attendee,
We are pleased to formally announce that, representing the International Working Group on Capacitive Deionization and Electrosorption, we will be hosting the seventh international conference in Wrocław in May 2025. The next edition of the world’s most relevant scientific event on Battery Deionization & Electrochemical Separations (BDI&E) will also cover the latest developments in the field of membrane separations.
Join us for this exciting journey through the latest advancements in electrode materials, membrane materials, theoretical and modeling approaches, integrated processes, and novel configurations. Explore, among other things, the frontiers of battery deionization, selective separations, the recovery of raw materials, CO2 capture and conversion.
This conference provides a unique platform for the exchange of innovative ideas, sharing your research findings, and establishing new scientific collaborations. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to visit one of the most beautiful cities in Poland. We sincerely invite you to join this event.
Sincerely, 7th E&MSP 2025 Comittee

About EMSP
About
The Conference of Electrochemical and Membranes Separations, previously referred to as CDI&Electrosorption, has undergone a name change to encompass a wider range of topics.
History
Every other year, CDI & Electrosorption Conferences are held, with their origins tracing back to the inaugural CDI Symposium in Leeuwarden, The Netherlands in 2014.
XPRIZE Water Scarcity
XPRIZE Water Scarcity is a global competition designed to revolutionize seawater desalination—reimagining systems, methods, and materials to drive scalable, sustainable, and affordable solutions. This multi-track competition tackles the challenges and opportunities of seawater desalination through two complementary tracks, each designed to create transformative impact in addressing global water scarcity. With a $119 million prize purse, teams will compete in:
Track A – Desalination: System-Level Innovation
The winning team will reliably and sustainably generate one million liters of potable water per day (1,000 m³/day) from seawater at the lowest possible cost over the course of one year, ensuring global accessibility.
Track B – Desalination: Novel Materials and Methods
The winning team will demonstrate a breakthrough material and/or method that sustainably and cost-effectively treats seawater to potable water quality, with an operational lifetime of 10 years or more.
By advancing both system-level innovation and material science breakthroughs, XPRIZE Water Scarcity is paving the way for a future where clean water is abundant, affordable, and environmentally sustainable.
Join us in tackling one of the world’s most pressing challenges—because access to clean water should never be a privilege.
